WebCam Águila Calzada

La Comunidad de Madrid ha instalado una Webcam en las cercanías de un nido de águila calzada para facilitar la labor investigadora y de conservación de esta especie.

La imagen del nido, en directo, se podrá ver en una pantalla ubicada en el Centro de Visitantes del Valle de El Paular, en Rascafría y en cualquier lugar del mundo, a través del dispositivo móvil o de internet. Gracias a esta tecnología, se obtiene una valiosa información sobre aspectos pocos conocidos de la biología de esta especie, que servirá para conocerla más y gestionarla mejor.

El águila calzada es una pequeña rapaz forestal, que caza en zonas abiertas. Es una especie migradora transahariana, que pasa el invierno en zonas de sabana a unos 3.000 km de este nido. En la Comunidad de Madrid nos visitan unos 324 parejas, de las que 100 se reproducen en el Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama.
