Sierra de Guadarrama Natural Resources Management Plan

Legislation

On November 18 2009, the Governing Council of the Community of Madrid approved the Natural Resources Management Plan (PORN) of the Sierra de Guadarrama Madrid slope and two months later, (January 14 2010) the Governing Council of Castilla y León Community approved the one for the Segovia slope.

These resources management plans are preventive tools, prior to the National Park Pronouncement. They would predetermine the limits of the future park, which would be similar to the zones of maximum protection they established. The land surface they ruled is much greater than the area that was later considered as the National Park and the Peripheral Protection Zone.

They are currently in force and must be developed in the scope of the National Park by the Use and Management Master Plan (PRUG). You can download the full texts of both Communities Natural Resources Management Plans.
