SOS Anfibios in TVE

celia tve¡The Iberian frog is on TV! The TV show of TVE 1 “Aquí en la Tierra” broadcasted the 2nd of September a short documentary about the recovery plan of the Iberian frog in Peñalara.

During the interview we spoke about the history of this frog in Hoya de Peñalara, where it became extinct due to the introduction of fish.  We also mentioned that we need 10 more years to get rid of the introduced fish in order to reintroduce the frog little by little.

In the TV show, you can see the area where we are reintroducing the Iberian frog, the tadpoles swimming in their new home upon release and of course, the main character of this news: An adult Iberian frog  that we marked with microchip to identify it.

Thanks to the team of “Aquí en la Tierra” for visiting and helping us to make public the threats of the amphibians and the needed efforts for their recovery!
